AI Operating Model Design Sprint

Design your target AI Operating Model across all six domains — from governance architecture to decision rights framework. The engagement that turns diagnostic clarity into organizational architecture.

The Problem This Solves

“We know our AI initiatives are not scaling. We need to redesign how we operate. But we have no structured method for that organisational design work — and no shared vocabulary to align leadership around it.”

The Design Sprint is the core HandsOn engagement: an intensive 8–12 week program to design the target AI Operating Model across all six domains. The output is not a strategy document — it is an operational blueprint with enough specificity to guide implementation choices, governance decisions, and investment priorities over the following 12–24 months.

The Sprint begins from the Multidimensional Maturity Profile established in the Diagnostic phase. Each domain is addressed through a structured design process progressing from current-state documentation through target-state design, with explicit attention to interdependencies between domains. The Human-AI Interface provides the shared design language that all six domain outputs must speak.

Our Approach

Design work on D01 Strategy & Value Architecture, D02 Organisational Structure, and D03 System Governance. Capability-based investment thesis, structural model selection, governance architecture, and EU AI Act risk tiering framework.

Design work on D04 Decision Architecture, D05 Process & Workflow Architecture, and D06 Capabilities & Culture. Decision Rights Registry prototype, process redesign for 2–3 pilot workflows, and role-specific capability framework.

Integration of all six domain designs into a coherent target operating model. Transition Architecture (Stage 1→2 enablers), implementation roadmap, governance cadence design, and executive validation workshop.

Key Deliverables

  • Target AI Operating Model (all 6 domains)
  • Governance architecture & risk tiering framework
  • Decision Rights Registry (initial version)
  • Capability framework & differentiated learning paths
  • Transition Architecture (stage-by-stage roadmap)
  • Executive-ready operating model documentation

Prerequisites

  • AI Operating Model Diagnostic (or equivalent baseline)
  • C-suite sponsorship and leadership availability
  • Cross-functional team input (HR, Legal, IT, Business)
